CARLSBAD, CA -- Document Sciences (Nasdaq: DOCX) announced the acquisition of CambridgeDocs. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. CambridgeDocs developed software that translates Microsoft Word, general HTML, Adobe PDF and other popular document formats into XML, a universal database language. Document Sciences intends to integrate the technology acquired into its xPression product suite. In addition, Document Sciences will continue to develop CambridgeDocs xDoc product suite as an open platform.
